Key Chapters
When I speak of 'internal ecology,' I am referring to the dynamic environment inside your body—a living community of microorganisms, enzymes, and nutrients where balance equals health. Every aspect of our vitality originates in this inner world, especially in the intestines. When the inner terrain becomes too acidic, burdened with toxins, or overrun by unfriendly bacteria, symptoms begin to surface: bloating, skin irritations, exhaustion, anxiety, and more. Restoration begins when we create conditions favorable to beneficial microbes and unfavorable to disease-promoting organisms.
In my own research and healing work, I noticed that most chronic ailments—candida overgrowth, chronic fatigue, and immune deficiencies—share a common denominator: a compromised inner ecology. Modern diets heavy in refined sugar, processed carbohydrates, and antibiotic exposure destroy the delicate microbial balance we depend upon. The Body Ecology Diet therefore focuses on restoring the 'soil' of the body so the 'plants'—your organs, cells, and immune responses—can flourish.
This is why fermented vegetables, cultured beverages, and probiotic foods hold such a central role. They repopulate your gut with friendly bacteria, enhance the absorption of minerals, and naturally curb sugar cravings. While medicine often targets isolated symptoms, Body Ecology rebuilds the very foundation so your entire system reorganizes toward wellness. Once your inner environment is balanced, your immune system wakes up. You experience what it means to be resilient—able to fight infection, maintain energy, and experience mental clarity grounded in physical vitality.
To transform one’s health sustainably, we must follow certain universal principles governing internal renewal. Over time, I distilled the Body Ecology system into seven guiding principles: expansion and contraction, acid and alkaline, uniqueness, food combining, 80/20, step-by-step, and balance between cleansing and building. Each principle represents a natural law of nourishment and digestion.
For example, the principle of acid and alkaline reminds us that nutrition is not about rigid restriction but about maintaining a harmonious internal pH. When we consume excessive acid-forming foods—like sugar, conventional meat, and processed grains—the body becomes inflamed and sluggish. By adding alkaline-forming foods—green vegetables, cultured drinks, and ocean vegetables—we restore an inner climate where beneficial bacteria can thrive.
Food combining is another neglected yet powerful key. Improper mixtures—such as proteins with starches—slow digestion and create fermentation, which distorts your intestinal flora. But when you pair foods correctly—vegetables with proteins or vegetables with non-starchy grains—digestion proceeds effortlessly, nutrients are absorbed efficiently, and energy is released steadily.
The 80/20 principle teaches that meals should be composed of eighty percent land and ocean vegetables, the body’s true alkalizers, and only twenty percent concentrated protein or grain. The uniqueness principle reminds us that no two bodies are identical; each of us must listen and adjust according to our signals and needs. Healing, as I emphasize again and again, is not about discipline alone—it is about learning how to live in partnership with your body’s wisdom. When these principles align in practice, health ceases to be fragile and becomes something deeply self-sustaining.
