Our culture reinforces this cycle. We reward certainty, expertise, and speed, leaving little room for emotional vulnerability or exploration. Social media amplifies comparison, which is fear’s favorite fuel. But by acknowledging fear’s presence in all these behaviors, we unravel the myth that something is wrong with us. We begin to see fear as a sign of engagement—a signal that we care deeply about something. This recognition reframes fear from being an obstacle to being a guide.
