Through her, I explore the burden of leadership in a world without signs. She cannot consult her ancestors, cannot receive omens in the moonpool; she must instead read the hearts of her Clanmates and find meaning in their unity. When small quarrels erupt—between warriors longing for stronger ties, apprentices impatient for glory—Leafstar must balance discipline with compassion. Her greatest challenge is not battle, but belief: convincing her Clan that they belong among the stars even when the stars are silent.
