Love evolves from dopamine-driven passion to serotonin-based stability.
In this transformation lies a fundamental truth: dopamine loves beginnings, not maintenance. It seeks novelty, not routine. When people chase the initial spark repeatedly—from partner to partner—they are listening solely to dopamine, unable to transition to attachment’s deeper satisfaction. True intimacy arises only when both systems coexist—when desire meets acceptance.
