Our research began with a question: What truly sets great leaders apart? We surveyed tens of thousands of managers from every continent, complemented by interviews with senior executives from leading companies—Accenture, Cisco, IKEA, Microsoft, and many more. The patterns that emerged were illuminating. Technical competence and strategic vision were necessary, but they were not the differentiators. More importantly, their teams report higher levels of well-being, productivity, and psychological safety.
